I dont like Terry Pratchett but I appreciate that he was a talented writer who worked hard at his craft.

When you run into a writer who references the "boot metaphor" about wealth and is clearly using it as conversation and bungles it terribly you appreciate more that Sir Pratchett worked very hard at his prose.
