Lyrics/melancholy
Woof, was not expecting the massive pang of guilt from hearing the lyric "please don't go, I love you so, I'll eat you up I love you so".
I always hear that in my mother's voice, given how fond she was of Where The Wild Things Are. For as much as I consistently refuse to go Home Again, I really need to reckon with the fact that it's not just me that pays the cost of that decision.
Especially seeing as Mother's Day is this weekend, and I haven't called home in weeks
Further lyrics/melancholy
Ha, and then after a quick detour to a highly ironic "There Is No Depression In New Zealand" is a song repeating "I've Got No Expectations", by the New Reptiles, reminding me of the other impact my standing still has. I need to get on my shit.
