I've officially been playing Into The Breach for too long tonight. Just rubbed my eyes and thought I caused 1 damage to them by pushing them back against the sockets.

Real talk though, this trip was amazing. I try to remind myself not to be too sad when it's over, because I'm so lucky I get to spend any time with someone so wonderful, not to mention dragging her all the way to my family in my home country

In a weird way, it's almost nice to have parted with Ang for the end of the trip, because at least the thing I've been increasingly dreading is over and done with.

Plus, at least I get to go back to my hotel room and be alone, rather than dealing with being around a bunch of people and navigating a late night flight

Getting ready to get on a flight and leave NZ. It's been a very good trip, but I'm also glad I get at least a little longer with Ang in the US

@abe_e_seedy I thought yesterday we climbed a mountain but today we extremely climbed a mountain

Today we:
- flew to Queenstown
- took a gondola extremely up a big hill
- hiked further up the hill
- accidentally hiked much further than expected
- seriously, it might actually have been a full-on mountain
- had a triumphant ice-cream & cookie sundae on our return to the ground

All checked in and chilling at the airport. Ready to fly out in about 2 hours for the Great 2019 Vacation Leg 1 - Destination LA

Just finished up with work - now to finish packing before flying to meet Angrboda on our way to belated NZ Christmas!

Boy a perfect way to cap off 2018 was to agree to meet up with an old friend I now know mostly through Facebook while she's visiting London on Jan 1st, a decision I've been quietly anxious about for roughly 80% of all time since I suggested it
(the other 20% of the time I've been asleep)

Really hoping I've threaded the needle on making this not a creepy comment, given that it's talking about a real person who is hella not signing up for anything like that. Let me know if it's coming off that way and I'll delete it.

I'm watching the livestream previews for the Civ 6 expansion and today the host was wearing little reindeer horns & ears and my immediate response was

"Oh, cool, I'm this easy huh? Okay, good to know"

Boy if "global tech company violates court order to unthinkingly email the name of the suspect in a woman's murder (that has prompted harsh soul-searching about violence towards women), tech company doesn't care because country is too small" doesn't sum 2018 right the hell up

Turns out the reason my sister really wanted to talk tonight is so she could come out as
- bisexual
- in a poly relationship

It was interesting being on the other side of the nervous energy of someone talking about that for the first time, but I hope I at least provided an easy audience for it
