Say all you want about anime avatars being a good indicator that folks are shit, for my money the best indicator that someone is garbage is a Spider Jerusalem avatar. It also means their takes all read as tweets from 2 the ranting gryphon.

That series remains one of my favorite in terms of how it illustrates the need to an open and free press, and its power to affect large scale change.
But dang if people just miss that message entirely and read it as “it’s okay to be cynical and an asshole in general,” instead. >.<
@angrboda Kind of interesting since I often feel like transmetropolitan was kind of prescient, even relevant now.
But it probably shows style matters more than content. Connecting with Spider Jerusalem as an abrasive shithead is more important than whatever it was he was fighting against.
