meta + politics
I do think we have an opportunity to re-establish *how* we talk about things here, though.
My style of speaking about news and politics on twitter grew very unconsciously. I was/am one voice in a torrent. 5-6 years ago I was still in the glow of a political awakening. The rawness of me and others going through that played to twitter's advantage - fiery proclamations and long arguments are the "engagement" that is an ad platform's lifeblood.
I'm 100% back on my bullshit
Interestingly, these gurdies lack a "dog", the loose piece of wood that, when turning the wheel faster, can be made to "bark". I thought French instruments of the time had them normally, but maybe this is a different kind! They're described in the Italian museum catalog, but I can't read it /:
(boosts ok) instance info request, disability
are there instances that specifically, in their rules, name "ableism" as a thing they disallow? disabled voices being involved in moderation are also a bonus.
to be clear, we do NOT mean any instance that uses a catch-all and includes ableism in that catch-all. forex "we don't allow racism, transphobia, etc" is not helpful in this request.
rust
If you have a few minutes, it would be awesome if you would fill out the "2018 State of Rust Language Survey", whether or not you actually use/used rust this year:

PSA for people who #code:
Looking stuff up does NOT make you bad at coding.
"Not having to look up stuff" is NOT the benchmark for a good coder, especially as coders have to look up stuff ALL THE TIME!
And I don't mean highly advanced stuff, but stuff like "How does division work again?" or "What's that function called?" or my personal favorite "How to I nest for loops in list comprehensions?".
It's ok if you have to look up stuff!
Rust 1.22.1 is out and it significantly improves backtraces on macOS https://twitter.com/rustlang/status/933517324405084160
Here's a comparison of 1.21.0 and 1.22.1 printing a backtrace from the same panic on macOS: https://mastodon.social/media/2GQgNgdHLOwQVbzIkig https://mastodon.social/media/3eK5sYx6OhlDbZm5adY
As more and more mythical races are revealed, some are starting to wonder if any genuine humans actually exist.
