y'know if there's one thing that bothers me about a lot of science fiction it's that there's always this implication of a world way different from ours but there's never anything there to really like, explore that fact
I know why this is mind you (Chekhov's Gun, keeping the story relatable) but at the same time it's like... you have entire alien societies here, what does an ordinary person go through in your universe? what's their life like, what do they do for fun?

@macroscopicentric I think you're good if you have an existing app? But for new ones you have to grovel for permission. Also, I guess my problems downloading the archive stem from having an ages-old account; must have missed a database migration or several.

@federicomena @tef yep, pretty much that! I should caution that I never could figure out how to use the crossbeam GC correctly (all my single-threaded things ended up leaking memory all over the place), but would love to see an example that works (:

my GOD it's because it was unable to verify my email address (I signed up in 2007, never got a "confirm your email" email)?! They said they'd sent me a confirmation email but apparently my account was old enough to render them unable to do so.

#Amaroq is more or less stale at the moment. I had grand plans to overhaul a lot of it and get back up to feature parity with the platform but just honestly don’t have the bandwidth to jump back into it right now. Keep an eye on @tootapp it’s going to be a fantastic app when it’s done.
