hey so if you were one of those “smart” kids who coasted through your entire school career and in adulthood have no capacity to apply yourself to learning, how do you actually teach yourself a thing? totally asking for a friend
@cat i only coasted thru to middle school my high school was a technical college, were i failed to learn programming, or math, or accounting — from my teachers. i still don't know math, my company pays an accountant, and i get paid for programming, so i dunno… i don't do well with authoritarian teachers, i do much better with mentors because i have a very holistic (slow) approach, so i might ask different mentors for different leads and then dive in for a couple of months.
