*randomly moves the buttons around for no reason* im designer
my favorite part of the "back" part for the rightmost column, though, has to be that it operates on history. so if you open, say, the public timeline from a bookmark? the back button will take you back to whatever you had open before mastodon. 🤡

@Xkeeper I tried to fix this years ago but they wouldn’t let me

@Xkeeper yeah, I was going to remove almost all the columns’ dependence on the router/web history stuff, because it doesn’t actually fucking make sense when your app is made of columns; each one needs its own nav context, and honestly the default UI being a tweetdeck clone was shitty to start with

@cat nice. bet it would run a lot less awfully

@Xkeeper it’d take less than 18 seconds to load that’s for fucking sure

@Xkeeper that said it’d still have nobody on it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@cat yeah :/ oof.
ah well... it would be nice to have something better

@Xkeeper the temptation to fork glitchsoc, throw out the entire React app, and just make a rails app which is a fucking timeline is *extremely* strong but I don’t actually want to host a mastodon instance
