me, wise: the N64 controller was bad because the analog stick would crumble to dust, but offering a comfortable handgrip for both d-pad and analog stick was unprecedented at the time and very good
@katelyn was that ever “all at once” though? I don’t remember any time I had to swap in the middle of gameplay - between mini-games is fine, I have zero issue with that
@cat There was one where the optimal controls was to use analogue for ↔ and digital for ↕. It may not have been intended, but anything to make the minigames less terrible.
@cat Once you figured out how it was meant to be used, it was a really nice controller design.
Unless you had a poorly designed game that wanted you to use face buttons, D-pad and analogue stick all at once (Pokemon stadium minigames)
