so on IMDB on the "hackers" goofs page someone is like "the P6 (which came out as pentium pro) isn't RISC, it's CISC!"

so like. obviously they don't know that that was the first pentium to have a RISC-like core with microcode translation from the CISC machine code

but i cba making an IMDB acct to correct it

but it's just, the worst kind of pedantry, when someone gets hit by the dunning-krueger effect in their nitpicking and ends up being wrong

like RISC is so much more powerful that even after all the work that went into the pentium's core, they just scrapped it and went with an x86 interpreter and a RISC-like backend bc it was just way faster that way
