i'm not a true believer in any particular solution, but what i do see is a lot of people trying to grapple with the bofh syndrome.
this has been a problem since there have been systems, and i don't think being being your own operator will ever be a solution that everyone can practically engage in.
but governance can also suck.
equitable systems need to be accessible and be able to deal with bad actors. i wish i felt like i knew what the answers were, but after 6 years of open federation...
