reminder that one of the earliest episodes of TOS had kirk basically explaining bodily autonomy and getting consent to a 16 (?) year old with god powers who thinks he should be allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants

it was very 60s TV unclear innuendo but like. it's basically "these people experience being sexualised and so what you see as 'horsing around' like you saw two pals doing, can be seen as an attack, because they don't know you and haven't given you permission"

ironically the yeoman being harassed in the episode is played by the actress roddenberry allegedly raped.

to me it almost sounds like men understand consent, but chose to violate it anyway. or assume consent as the result of soft coercion is "good enough".
