Also, acceptance of existing statist solutions is qualitatively different than what I'm describing here at the local level.

You seem offended that anyone might notice the bits and pieces that get us through today.

The revolution isn't here, and we still need to find a way to care for each other.

@denikombucha@playvicious.social I'm who your ire is directed at (besides Jeff Bezos), but right now being someone needs to be providing social welfare to poor kids with the least amount of strings attached.

I can acknowledge things are fucked up, and there are better systemic solutions. But communities and existing institutions providing what services they can is a form of harm reduction I won't dismiss.

i mean, yeah, but also schools are one of the last pieces of social welfare communities are willing to pay for, so, as under resourced as they are, any service they're willing to provide is usually better than the alternative.
