so... in addition to all the other difficulties in using av1, there doesn't seem to be a standardized way to include hdr10+ or dolby vision.

i mean i don't even have a display that will utilize those streams, but i still want the data.

does this encoder handle pq metadata is a question i wish i didn't know had to be asked.

I’m starting to realise “everyone ought to know how to” really annoys me as a type of opinion. On fedi it’s usually “program” of “repair appliances”, which doesn’t help, but on a visceral level I think I spent too much of my childhood hearing about all the things I ought to be able to do but couldn’t,
because of adhd, or toxic people, or complete and utter lack of interest

damn bro... you're moisturizing so hard today.. damn ur getting real moist

re: something to think about

@novimatrem but also something to not think about, a gender void if you will

food, meat

"to make banana bread you must first fry 1 pound of bacon"

life hack: you can get around some sites' paywalls by opening the page in Firefox's Reader Mode and refreshing

my parallel encoding job is rate limited by how many simultaneous reads i'm doing to the harddrive. anything beyond 4 processes and the encode can't keep the cores busy.

re: vision, -

@novimatrem the situation in the uk seems pretty rough. do they have specs like this there?
amazon.com/Adjustable-Glasses-

they tend to be cheaply made, but they'll work in a pinch
