@KitRedgrave a lot of the people who end up on the fedi are under-resourced or otherwise marginalized. a lot of us live in fear.
there's all kinds of ways one can end up feeling entitled, but depravation, with a little power or trust can be a dangerous combination.
i'm not trying to excuse anyone's behavior, but the violence would go down if most people could get their basic emotional and physical needs met.
@noiob thank you!
@noelle is something working on you? that nudges me to depression sleep.
@noelle OK, but how did they arrive?
I have some sources telling me that it was, in fact, raining men, and if so I suggest staying indoors until the weather clears.
@bunny_jane yeah, but does it winny?
@christinelove holy shit!
@pan very well done
@charlattan@mastodon.online it's where the idea that you deserve to get what you need starts.
idk there's a whole world of people ready to shit on us, and we all die alone in the end. it's worth the effort not to be your own enemy.
it's not easy. that's for sure. having a partner who sees me as worthwhile had helped, but internalizing that can be the work of a lifetime.
@confusedcharlot @haskal i do think there's huge potential for some articles on debugging systemd. like, with a debugger. obviously a different level of the game than debugging some shell scripts. but given the wide-spread adoption of systemd, i think it's due and just that there be some walkthroughs of seeing how things work.
the fact that there aren't a bunch of "here i am, at the end of my rope, debugging this garbage" videos is basically, imo, proof that for the most part it works quite well, & in predictable understandable ways. but it would be fun to have the wizard's lab out in full effect, prodding at systemd, carefully watching & learning of it.
