@KitRedgrave a lot of the people who end up on the fedi are under-resourced or otherwise marginalized. a lot of us live in fear.

there's all kinds of ways one can end up feeling entitled, but depravation, with a little power or trust can be a dangerous combination.

i'm not trying to excuse anyone's behavior, but the violence would go down if most people could get their basic emotional and physical needs met.
