i had a choice in 2007: scheme clojure, or common lisp. i don't regret picking common lisp, for one thing it's beautifully documented, but it didn't seem that long ago.

@ThatDamnCat some are. there's a subculture of engineers who are mostly older white male racist climate change denying sexist homophobes.

i've spent so much time obsessed with computers, and at the end of the day, software and engineering are such toxic environments to try to make a living in.

also, i'm in my mid 40s, and i'm a fat trans woman with a spotty employment history and chronic mental and physical illnesses. don't know where that leaves me.

feel like i would have been better off as a person studying something like sociology, but i feel too poor and broken to start all over. having a rough couple of days.
