I should throw this out there - are you good with buildsystems? Do you want to work with me? My team is hiring!

@inmysocks Internal developer-facing tools at a popular tech company that builds external developer-facing tools. My team does chatops, CI, developer workstation tooling - that kinda thing. We're especially looking for people to help maintain and improve a large, thorny testsuite.

@dog that sounds like a lot of things I am bad at. Good luck on your search!

@rabcyr I can send you the public opening if you want to take a look!

@dog these are the kinds of things I seem to find myself working on often… 🤔

@dn3s no, 'cause I'm bad at build systems and I hate them

@Efi that's fair. i think a lot of my love for them is driven by my hate or the problems they solve :P

@dog Oh dear, that is kind of my specialty here, and I would adore working with you, but… I'm also pretty happy where I am 😊

@zigg haha same, except i don't have enough experience to claim it's my "specialty".

@dn3s I used to think I wasn't good enough, especially build systems keep changing up… but I am the go-to for it here, so I started accepting it, heh

@zigg that sounds like a good position to be in! given i had never touched a CI pipeline before 2 months ago though, it may take me a while to get there...

@dn3s I won't lie and say it's easy—in fact, sometimes it feels like the *worst*—but I'm willing to bet you got this. 😊

@zigg I mean, if you're happy where you are, I'm not going to rush to lure you away. :b
