Now that my FILM muxer is in FFmpeg, I think my next step will be writing up a blog post on it! I didn’t find many resources on this kind of thing, so I hope writing about my experiences will help other people - and be interesting in general.

I’m still trying to figure out why FFmpeg’s Cinepak is being rejected by the Saturn, but it’s a bit less pressing now that I have access to a vintage Cinepak encoder. My muxer’s still very useful for replacing audio.

@dog out of curiosity, I was looking over the code and flipping back-and-forth between it and the documents on wiki.multimedia.cx. I found it pretty easy to follow; kudos on that too :) a lot of times I just get lost in "what the hell is this implementation doing"; not this time
