Should have posted this earlier: ~8 minute demo of Lunar: Silver Star Story in English for Saturn! Features full English cutscenes, but no English text (it's not quite ready to demo yet). https://youtu.be/0olV34Mdx9s
Uhhh, the original programmer of Sonic 3D Blast is making a new update to it from source code????? https://www.kotaku.com.au/2017/10/sonic-3d-is-getting-a-directors-cut/
Huh... I didn't realize Skies of Arcadia was announced for PC back in 2004. Guess that never happened. https://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q1-2004/010204a.html
This Kotaku article on a Japanese PC game archive is really, really good. https://www.kotaku.com.au/2017/10/saving-japans-games/

A game I'd really love to translate is Game Arts's Urusei Yatsura for Mega CD, but the lack of in-game subtitles makes it pretty much a nonstarter. :/ At least not until my hacking skills get way better, anyway. https://awoo.space/media/Vo2lAdTFyLo1gVY1BIA https://awoo.space/media/ODnyRF24ogFhahRxx90 https://awoo.space/media/xAbdNB0nbNz5YT5bECg https://awoo.space/media/F4bSKYrIOGu5qoP78tQ
These portraits are stored as 8-bit tiles, easy enough to interpret. This is my attempt at reading the separate palette file. It looks like it's a 15-bit palette in a very simple file, just two bytes per colour index with no header or anything else.
The cafe is playing Pacific?! It makes very good cafe music but it’s so obscure I’m shocked. It’s an album of gentle fusion jazz by Tatsuro Yamashita, Ryuichi Sakamoto and others https://youtu.be/dSCwoYcp0IY
While people are paying attention to me, maybe I can self-promote a little bit:
I'm giving a talk this January at CodeMash in Sandusky, Ohio! It's about my experience as tech lead on a team building a successful and (dare I say) performant Electron application.
I'm also a regular volunteer at CodeMash for some years running and will be doing that again, so if you come, even if you don't see my talk, come say hi?
Sleepy but powerful
