Long post about my name!

So I chose my name Jocelyn awhile ago, starting boring enough through baby name sites. It started with J like my birth name and I was fond of the name for a really long time.

Then I learned it originated in Germany (I'm part German) and it was a masculine name until it became a feminine one later on after the English got hold of it. Also, in German it means "one of the goths."

Sooooo, that's one step closer to becoming a big tiddy goth girlfriend I guess! :blobrainbow:

@Alistor

That's really neat! Always fun to find important resonances with a name you're choosing.

When I was choosing mine, I looked in a broad list of 'non-binary' names, and was skimming in the E section. I'd already been going by "Em" as a shortened furry nickname, so I was looking for anything else that shortened to the same. Also around the same time, I had started identifying with/as a phoenix.

Then I saw "Ember". And I knew that was it. :-)

@Alistor (As a bonus, I've had a long history of naming characters with what are usually verbs or nouns, so it privately amuses me that I chose one for my human self too. :-P )
