Watched the first six episodes of Netflix Castlevania so far.

The writing is a little bit ridiculous and is aggressively Warren Ellis. It's very much in the vein of "subtext is for cowards".

More than anything, I'm enjoying it as an aesthetic space to hang out in for a while. Great visual design is a big part of that.

For reference, my relationship with other Warren Ellis works: loved Transmetropolitan, enjoyed FreakAngels, hated Crooked Little Vein, haven't read any of his other stuff.

(that last one I'm honestly a little impressed at how much I disliked it.)
