My exploration of my spirituality has me pointing to / looking at compass symbology repeatedly. I know I wouldn't have the only system to ascribe meaning to cardinal directions and to the image of a compass rose; does anyone else know the meanings associated with the compass rose and the cardinal directions?

The Magician's Reflection has to say on the compass that it is a symbol of "guidance, direction, knowledge, intelligence, and right-conduct", but not much else. No mention of associations with the cardinal directions either.

@MagentaForge I think check in the section for 4 elements, there's some cross-referencing there to the cardinal points.
Pretty sure that's where I got the element/direction stuff from, which I've reflected in my bedrooms for years, long enough to memorize.
It's definitely only /one/ variation, but mine tend to be:
North : Earth
West : Water
East : Air
South : Fire

I've kind of accidentally made my own associations :D; I ended up with...
North: Air (Truth / Knowledge / Honesty)
West: Fire (Courage)
East: Water (Emotions / Care / Empathy)
South: Earth (Community)
Additionally my internal entities / advisors reside at / are associated with different points of the compass.
