when I read Every Heart a Doorway and decided my door went to Pern, I was totally forgetting about how I created a Wheel of Time self-insert to deal with an especially traumatic nightmare in high school
Speaking of which, the Tor #Books newsletter has been full of Wheel of Time articles lately. Are they making a movie or something?
@DialMforMara Not sure! I noticed that too; I follow the online blog, which the newsletter draws from.
@emanate It's making me both really want and really not want to reread and finish the series
I binged it in high school, then stopped because book 12 hadn't come out yet, and then got tired of waiting
Maybe Tor are just that big into Brandon Sanderson; they're always essaying about his own IP
@DialMforMara I think they're his publishers, so yeah. I do actually like his stuff, even if several of his series have the Wheel Of Time problem (huge, sprawling, unfinished series).
@DialMforMara Having not read them for various reasons, I suppose that's a good comparison.
Sanderson's stuff definitely moves along at a decent clip. I've never had a 1000+ page book go by so fast.
@emanate I had that with Anathem. And with none of Neal Stephenson's other books.
