I live about two blocks from this place, and they have neon signs in the windows about how awesome science is. And then I saw this!

food shitposting

(look, chopsticks sometimes mess my hand up, and I don't want to overdo it since I still have unpacking to do.)

food shitposting

California rolls with fake crab in them don't count as sushi, so they should be valid to use a fork to eat, right? :-P

I'm down just south of downtown and saw "Foxycuts Salon"! With the phone number's last four digits just being "FOXY". @starkatt @almost anyone on vulpine.club

My day:
-No-show on manager for lease signing. No info or call back all day.
-Neutral at start, sliding ito soreness and tired over the day, as I do all the things. Usual Wednesday.
-Mood failing when trying to talk to boss about something. Break taken. Somewhat recovered.
-Flagging a bit, read some comics away from counter. Helped. Took my extra Adderall.
- Me: "think I'm stabilizing"
-almost immediately after: angry yelling at bus for stupid petty stuff
Now: food. -_-

grump

Well, waiting outside in near-freezing weather for 45 minutes rather than being inside signing the lease on a new apartment was not how I expected this morning to go. :-/
I'm not even mad, just...perplexed.

[after approaching a large polycule]

"So, who's the Top Quark, Bottom Quark, Charm Quark, Up Quark, Down Quark, Strange Quark, Electron, Muon, Tau, Neutrino, Gluon, Photon, Boson, and Higgs?"

Today in the adventures of 'no one but me reads my documentation', there are random lines of bad church latin invoking the protection of the machine spirit in our disaster recovery plan.
Example:

"Omnissiah defensionem calculandum apparatus. Chao superare potest. Custodiat te nostrae tergum consilium."

Circuits preserve us.

Finally found something good to wear on my right wrist!

I had to go hunting to find these, eventually ordered from a shop in the UK. Only silicone wristbands I've ever seen with the actual /flag/ pattern rather than the ugly "color blotches in a circle" design.

If anyone wants a set, here's the store I got them from: ebay.co.uk/itm/NON-BINARY-LGBT

oblique pol commentary; a bit disgusting

In the alley back behind my work, there's been a rather large turd on the ground for almost a week.

Today I look down at it, and someone has stuck a tiny American flag on a toothpick into it.

I can think of no better comment.

(no, I won't take a picture. it's gross.)

Randomly had Tally Hall's Bananaman song stuck in my head this morning, so of course I had to watch the creepy music video for it.

Then I realized I'd never listened to other songs of theirs, so I'm doing so on my commute this morning. They're...actually really good? Harmless semi-nonsensical lyrics, but a good sound. I like it. :-)

bless the person that looks at you and asks "what were you about to say?" when the group convo skips over you

Non-serious, non-pol local news; bad pun

Alternate headline:
"Truck driver losings bearings, loses bearings."

I wish @Oneironott a very happy and hopefully peaceful manufacturing/decanting/hatching day! Love you, hon. :ms_purple_heart: :ms_gay: :ms_rainbow_flag:

Comics!

A story centered around Marvel's Thor, set at the end of time. Thor is All-Father, and has taken a dead Earth and remade a garden and humans to live in it. In the first panel, we learn one name: Adam.

Three pages later, an overpowered Doom has arrived. Thor's granddaughter Valkyries arrive. We learn a second name of the couple seen: Steve.

That's right. Jason Aaron has written into a Garden-of-Eden equivalent, an Adam and Steve. :-D

@emanate I didn't think this one through very well, mostly just wanted to rant about the Gregorian calendar.

Maybe I should have put it on my...AD account. :-P

Show thread

Look, the only time travel metric for how far back or forward you've gone is one that is relative to the time/date/year you left.
BC/AD is not universal, and any attempt to set a universal measure would have to agree on a starting point.
This way, you could travel and know it's T minus 1200, or T plus 100. A fellow traveler might describe themselves in your time as T-50, for which you flip the sign and know for certain it's T+50 to you.
None of this Gregorian calendar nonsense. :-)
