@girlfiend yeah you're gonna make it there :) you're pretty darn unstoppable when you're determined
more #lowpoly:
-when adding primitives, check their parameters. trying to decrease the polycount of a sphere is harder than just adding one with fewer subdivisions
A few #lowpoly tips for #Blender that I found useful (and haven't seen mentioned):
-set snapping to vertex mode and turn on auto-merge, useful for optimizations
-mirror modifier might not always be optimal, mirrored editing is imho better if you have edges that cross the YZ (mirror) plane
-decimate modifier is bad imho, try to avoid it
-it's ok to have objects with disjunct parts, if a chair leg is just a cube that sticks into another cube, that's fine
Wicked Grounds Update
For those curious, here are some updates from the Wicked Grounds facebook page.
Their Patreon is at $10,000 currently, which is halfway to their goal of $20,000. This is up from $3,000 this time yesterday. We can do this.
@dog ahh it's so good :D I stare at this for like 10 minutes every time you repost it
Uploaded a high-quality scan of a Laseractive brochure to the Internet Archive! It shows off a bunch of its features and selling points, along with some trippy mid-90s CG. https://archive.org/details/PioneerLaseractiveBrochure
This isn’t the only copy of this brochure on the internet, but it’s a much better scan than any previous copy and it’s unwatermarked. Also, the internet Archive's web-based book reader is really cool!

I just submitted a talk to DeconstructConf, and if you haven't given a conference talk before, you should too! From their website:
* Goal one: get new people into conference speaking. First-timers only.
* Goal two: increase diversity (though anyone is allowed to submit).
* We cover all travel expenses and pay you $3,000.
* You commit to practice the talk several times.
* We'll mentor you in whatever way you need!

Reminder that mastodon also has this feature; after you upload an image click at the bottom of the image preview to write a description
