@jskellogg@tabletop.social Depends what the reason is for posting the review. If it's like a "playtest", where you're trying to see how a reader might interpret it, then don't give any comments - if something's unclear to a reviewer that's signal that it needs to be more clear, without authorial intervention. On the other hand, if it's a review to show how fun the class could be (if played right), then of course give the reviewer guidance for how to get the most out of it!
re: Pol, Beto
@sandrockcstm It's a shame he's running for President instead of Texas Senate again. In the Senate, sure, he'd be a "Texas Democrat", but that's a big step up from "Texas Republican". But now in the primaries, he's basically the right wing. The alternative to him isn't Cruz or Cornyn, it's Warren or Harris or Sanders.
I mean, still uncalculably better than Trump; I'd vote and excitedly support him in the general. But we can do even better.
"Don't say a word."
*pause*
"Fergulous."
"I said-"
"Oh, two weeks ago in Scrabble it wasn't a word, but now that it's convenient for you..."

This naïveté is already damaging when it's in the software industry, where it has already led to the compromising of democracy worldwide. It will absolutely catastrophic if it manages to fully penetrate agriculture and food. Mark my fucking words.

@Gargron Pretty sure he is seriously underestimating the costs when he says it cost him 30k.
This sign is a perfect example of a primary source exercise. What does the source say? But more importantly, why does the source exist in the first place?
The sign doesn’t state what kind of behavior made its existence necessary, but we all know exactly what kind of behavior made its existence necessary
@magicalmilly what changed? I'm on chrome right now and have been hearing that maybe I should switch back, but I don't remember the details why.
re: uspol, fediverse meta
@magicalmilly Local politics, of course not. The people who already knew you before politics, of course not.
National politics, and new people... hard to say. National attention has a way of massively distorting the truth, so there's really no telling what people will believe about you if their first impression of you is a news article by someone who read about you but has never actually talked to you. And of course, people who have never known you before will have their first impression be "politician, of [your party]" with all the baggage that comes with that.
@Gargron Ugh. That's a good reminder that I really should minimize my social network use. That whole status game thing is just so annoying.
I was about to start my machine when a man suddenly appeared in the lab.
"I come from the future," he said.
More people appeared as he spoke.
"Are you here to stop me?" I asked.
"No, to witness."
Proud, I turned back to my machine, then heard a whisper:
"This bit is hilarious!"

@PaladinQuinn It's also worth noting WHY that is. Good journalism (investigating, finding out the truth) takes a lot more effort (i.e. cost, money) than just repeating propaganda. And of course, having backers (e.g. Muroch) who are willing to subsidize distributing propaganda keeps things cheap.
It's no wonder that outlets that actually try to do quality journalism are more expensive.
@natecull Ugh, yeah.
@natecull Eh, even with that, it's *still* safer to use a password manager than to reuse passwords that are "easy to remember". It's just that the bar for good security is really low because the default behavior is really bad.
