oh and there was a preview for Ready Player One, Spouse was all "ooh I wanna see that" and I was all "eeeennnnnhhhhhhh." I probably will be dragged along to see it. eeeeeennnnnnnnnnhhhhhhhhhh
@green yeah but consider that inaccurate theropods are still hissing screeching reptile monsters, which is really awesome. Also I fess up that "this has EVEN MORE DINOSAURS which weren't in this series before" is a quick way to get me hype for it.
@Leucrotta I first watched Jurassic Park the night before opening, at midnight, in a packed theatre, in the front row, and I have to admit that when Sue (I think of her as Sue) knocked down the bathroom kiosk and was staring at the lawyer I *yelled* "EAT THE LAWYER!" and got a round of laughs just before she did exactly that. XD T Rexes aren't even my favorite therapods, but I will *always* cheer for their roaring smashing awesomeness. and sometimes squeal "kitty!!"
@green Okay so what are your favorite theropods? I'm currently drawing a little bit off internet reference and finding Dilophosaurus *really* interesting as a "hey this thing looks like a lot of other theropods yet the skull looks like a spinosaur ancestor."
@Leucrotta my first favorite is troodon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troodon, for... personal reasons that are kind of hard to explain, heh. but I fancy pretty much the entire range of dromaeosauridae, including all the various raptors, and even the little early birds. bipedal, with forelimbs that could grasp (though no opposable thumbs have been found... ~yet~), and feathers, yeeeee.
there was also a preview for the next Jurassic Park movie which YES. I WILL SEE THAT. YES. all past sins can be forgiven if they do it right, and the preview was pretty fuckin fantastic (DESPITE THE CONTINUING LACK OF FEATHERS WTF THOSE POOR NAKED DINOS), so my hope is raised once again to stagger onward...
I am absolutely the target audience for pretty much anything with dinosaurs. ;______;
