* got a preview of the next Doctor's regeneration scene, which was quite cool, although spoiled somewhat by my (subconscious?) fear that since the new Doctor is female they'll put her in a short dress and heels BECAUSE PATRIARCHY. this bit also featured a "retrospective" of past Doctors, companions, and Masters, most of which were never on the show.

* something about learning to fly by capturing a spirit phoenix and then something WoW-type quest something? that was interrupted by an angry rant from Roger Ebert about the health dangers of smoking. nevertheless, I did manage to fly some, though I had difficulty clearing two-story buildings, presumably because I never finished the quest.
* OMG I AM CRAVING CINNAMON ROLLS SO BADLY. (good GF cinnamon rolls are frickin' impossible to find)

unfortunately I was unable to alligator in the pool this afternoon, as Old People were monopolizing the floaty things. :(

on the upside I saw a large lizard enthusiastically doing the red throat flashing thing, as well as a couple of limpkins (another bird I had never heard of before!), a bald eagle, and maybe a couple of northern mockingbirds.

also we're going to do "Flight of Passage" again tonight!!!!!!!! eeeeeeeeee

welp, it finally happened: I lost my glasses.

fortunately I don't need them for most usage. it means I can't read signs far away, and I'm likely to get more headaches, and of course I look much cooler with glasses than without. but it's not a terrible crippling loss.

plus, they were super cheap with Zenni. I'll order another two pairs (so I have a backup this time) and they'll probably be getting delivered about when I get home. :D

there are many sparrows foraging around the boardwalk area. I put some chip crumbs on the porch for them, and then thought of using the Merlin app to play their calls to attract them, because last time I did that I ended up surrounded by like a dozen sparrows and I felt like goddamn Snow White, but the Merlin app isn't working for some reason. the sparrows figured out where the chip crumbs were anyway, and are happily sparrowing around on the porch. ^___^
