Income inequality has created people who can afford to -be- whales, and the market has created commodities to suit them.
All of the devastated bank and credit accounts of children and vulnerable people are, from the perspective of the marketplace, either an undesirable side effect or pure gravy from a commodity being consumed by people outside of its target demographic, IE, people with mad stacks o' cash.
anyway, I'm home now, dishes are washing, clothes are drying, fridge is full, most of my to-do list is already checked off, and I can just sit and relax and realize how much I overstressed my back muscles shoveling out the dirt from the bottom of the squirrel enclosures, ow ow ow. maybe I should take an ibuprofen or something. >__<

wildlife rehab/rescue volunteering (mostly dull)
on the other hand, the other four bear cubs are doing great--they're hibernating, with occasional moments of EXTREMELY CRANKY AND LOUD GRONKING. cranky bears, at least small ones, sound kind of hilarious but also kind of alarming, in an instinctive "this animal could eat me" way.
the two lynx cubs are also great, the sole remaining seal pup is due for release this week I think, there's some pigeons and owls and otherwise not much!
