Still, that was an awful lot of emotional labor to have to do for a parent, especially given the very basic requests like "maybe could you not deadname my partner"
Not included in the letter, thankfully: the polyamory thing or the paganism thing.
Helping my mom write a letter to explain both my gender and sexuality situation to my extended family. THAT'S a fun little bit of wordsmithing. o.o
@forestservice Pouring something healthy for the tree (rainwater is good) at the roots is pretty commonly accepted too. :)

So I'm seeing some discussion about why Mastodon isn't necessarily taking off with certain minorities (let's be honest, they mean POCs while trying to dance around the term, this place is super White asides from the apparent Japan contingent).
Here's some thoughts:
1. The whole notion of "instances" is really unintuitive. When you Google "Mastodon", you get an instance like mastodon.social, but it's not immediately apparent that M.S isn't your only option or WHY you'd want a different instance

@literorrery Yeah, I'm familiar with this feeling with our house too. Trying hard not to be the neglectful sort, mostly managing, with some difficulty. The yard is still a huge quandry.

I don't mind it myself but I know lots of folks do (I also don't mind the taste of psilocybe, so I am obviously some sort of mutant. ;))
Most edibles put a lot of effort into masking it (and it still comes through a bit usually)
