WtA thoughts, please poke holes in this if you know the lore
Mixed-weretype packs/bands/whatever are much less unusual, the enmities between different species may still exist to some degree, but are not played as universal.
WtA thoughts, please poke holes in this if you know the lore
Weretype is determined by temperment/destiny/whatever else (in other words, player choice)
Auspice (if your weretype has one) is determined by when you changed, which itself is usually tied to some defining emotional moment (a bite can kindle the spark, but it ignites fully on its own).
Tribe/camp/etc is generally self-chosen based on ideology. Factions still bicker for the same reasonable and unreasonable reasons, of course.

So here's the general idea. Gaia wove the primal spark through the spirits of all her creatures, that they might be protected and kept in balance. It remains dormant in most, scattered through populations, and can be brought to the fore by need or by the actions of those who've already had it awakened. The cosmology is otherwise the same. The Tribes and Changing Breeds are all the same, at least on the basic-stereotype level. (cont)
Variant werewolves
No one knows what causes one to be change-hearted; it doesn't run in the blood, or wax and wane wth the moon, or be predictable in any way… other than in the scent that we can catch when near one as-yet-unchanged.
And even then, the Wyld's slipperiness manifests: a wolf's bite is as likely to birth a were-raven or were-bull as another wolf, since the change that takes hold flows along the paths of the new changer's heart, rather than from the one who decided to change them.
Werewolf lore
With a bit of:
"The City Farmers... believe that not only does city gardening (including growth in underground, indoor, or “found” niches like flower beds) integrate city populations with the power of the Wyld in ways many would not otherwise experience, but that properly done, it can halt urban expansion into what little wilderness still remains pure."
Werewolf lore
"The Urban Primitives struggle to unlock the feral side of the City, diving deep into the spiritual heart of the urban environment to connect with its technological heart-beat. They build tribal societies (both in the Nation and amongst humans) and commune with technology spirits, while decorating themselves with tattoos, piercings, scars, and brandings—embracing neo-ritualism and a retro-modern symbolism that only their camp seems to truly understand."
Yeah so basically us?

Everyone is faving this instead. Particularly people who go to the events.
*cut to 2019 when Indi's entire life is basically Werewolf LARP*
This is y'all's fault. XD
Help now I'm looking at Werewolf Moot outlines and getting ideas for future seasonal gatherings.
Someone stop me please. XD
Update to last night's Werewolf ramblings:
With this on my mind, my nightly meditation stuff was far more... vibrant than it usually is. And I went to bed full of ideas for how to add more Garou-inspired things into my magical practice. So yeah, this might be A Thing for me. c.c;
Continued Werewolf tooting, now more conceptual
Animism, much like identifying with animals, is one of those things that hits so deep in me that it's hard to tell where it came from. Werewolf was my first formal introduction to it, it fascinated me for years before it really clicked that the fascination was an indication of it just making sense to me on some sort of primal level.
Continued Werewolf tooting, now more conceptual
Of course as fun as the auspice stuff is, what I really like about the setting is how, unlike a lot of RPGs, you're involved in the metaphysics even if you're not a Theurge.
Want to know why there's something strange in your neighborhood? Probably easier to tell in the Umbra. Want to learn a new supernatural power? You're gonna be taking to a spirit. Want to get into that building undetected? Find a mirror and step sideways!
The aforementioned moon-phase calcuator, if anyone is curious: http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/vphase.html
Words cannot express how thrilled I am that that page is still there after *20 YEARS*
I was just doing some newsgroup digging and I'm reasonably sure I got turned on to Werewolf in the first place by a post about a moon phase calculator on alt.lifestyle.furry.
Which led to me looking mine up then eagerly heading to the bookstore to find out what it means.
(Ragabash, BTW. I will pause for a moment for everyone's surprise to die down)
So I ended up starting to read a Werewolf the Apocalypse novel and I'm realizing... This is like already more spiritually fulfilling than like 95% of the pagan books I've read in the past couple years.
I forgot how much that cosmology is (weirdly enough) my comfy-place, very very foundational for me. It's the thing that slotted right into the head of a proto-furry who grew up hearing animism-informed myths and just... took root.
Came home from shopping trip and @Elanna asked me to get the batteries or of the bag. I reached in and absentmindedly pulled out these
Coyote batteries.

Hypothetically-asked questions about the gender terminology stuff, answered:
Why/why now?
Gender is complicated, nonbinary gender doubly so. This is actually in line with stuff I've been saying to close friends for a while now.
Does this mean you're detransitioning?
No. :P
Does this mean you regret aspects of your transition?
NO. >:|
This seems hard/counterintuitive?
You probably already refer to me (or others) with different names in different contexts. I'm sure you can do this too.
