I just found some bouncy chiptune sugar made by a soft anime boy and my night is suddenly 100x better.
:D
it's not just appearance; sergals really are constructed from cheese wedges of various shapes #sergalfacts
Servals are the larval stage of sergals. #sergalfacts
HEY Y'ALL BTW: i edited a queer-centric comic anthology based on the Tarot's Major Arcana recently, and we're currently running a Kickstarter to get it into print! We're only a paltry $202 away from our goal as of now, so please pre-order if you can and spread the word if you can't!

@indi it's me. i'm the one killing postfurry. sorry y'all i just wanted to make my fursona look like a wired magazine
I remember first picking up the Werewolf the Apocalypse books and getting blown away not (just) because of the badass wolves but also because so much of the cosmology resonated so much.
LB is a good overview of the start of it for me and then there were the added layers of hearing a ton of local First Nations stories growing up, and taking long day-dream walks through the land that those legends told about, and even in church getting some of the trailing edge of 1970's 'nature is great' hippie Christianity. And then just stuff like the previously mentioned alt-school I went to for 7th grade, and the general Santa Fe culture.
@indi I don't think mine were ever as strong as yours, but as a kid I always felt it normal to talk to the trees and feel the mood of the forests. When folks were upset with tech that'd not work I'd suggest they treat it better, and then force a laugh when they looked at me weird >.>' Animism definitely just... makes sense to me, even though I've consciously lost a -lot- of my sense of it all
It was on the large homestead of an awesome hippie couple in Santa Fe. The back yard had chickens, carrier pigeons, an herb garden and a two-story treehouse. I went through two years of math in one year. We built a stone circle in the back, and another one up in the mountains on a field trip. The whole thing was infused with a low-key alternative spirituality that probably would've driven my parents nuts if they knew about it.
