This is based on a lifetime of feedback that folks don't understand (or don't care about) my emotional response, and it's really hard to explain how these things feel.
Stuff hurts a LOT, it's easy to be overwhelmed, and you just can't help it. There's no safe outlet.

"Why criticism hurts so much"
I've been working on a series aiming to explain why we can get so afraid and deeply hurt by disapproval that it will interfere with our life decisions.
Coming soon:
2/4 "Where does it come from?"
3/4 "How can I spot it?"
4/4 "What can I do?"

I really needed to see this affirmation and learn not to shame myself for my emotions.

For those of you new to my story, I’ve been happily sequestered at my girlfriend’s family’s rural vineyard for weeks. I feel like I live here now. I guess I do for the foreseeable future. They’ve been excessively welcoming to me. Anyway, I went inside to see what was up.

I'm doing my best. :) I'm always trying to do better.

THIS. I'm a much bigger fan of the "call-in" these days. Take a concern directly to that person and see if you can talk it out. It's so much more productive than calling out on Twitter

Look. There is a lot going on.
Before you start pulling triggers on people for interacting with a tweet know that people follow/like/RT/comment for SO many different reasons. If you have concerns about how someone reacted maybe ask them privately? Not everything is cut and dry.
