So today I heard that Patrick Stewart is going to be returning to the role of Jean-Luc Picard in a new Trek series that "will tell the story of the next chapter of Picard’s life".

And I am like, look, he's probably too damn old to be going on the away team any more. He should be Rear Admiral Picard flying a desk instead of going out having Space Adventures.

And then I am all, wait, that could be kind of awesome. Finally an excuse for a show set INSIDE the post-scarcity world of the Federation, a chance to play around with showing some fragments of how that could *work*. That's definitely something we *need* as a society right now.

It'll probably just find an excuse for more Space Adventures, it's not as if the later movies with the original cast went there. But damn I would love to see Post-Scarcity Space West Wing.

@anthracite I don't know how you did it, but you took the words right out of my brain.
