Hecking Spark! Derby skates are bloody expensive. Man, why tf everything gotta cost money?

@IrisKalmia Size 13 US Mens, Size 15 US Womens. I don't doubt that I could find some very cheap starter skates, but I want to get something good enough for full speed play, and meeting arena spec requirments too. Those are multi-hundreds.

@kelseyhusky I was curious if the pair I had on hand might fit you!

Though getting some starter skates and tossing new wheels and bearings on might be a good path? Are you just getting into roller derby or have you been at it for a bit? :o

@IrisKalmia I haven't even tried to start the physical training i've been told I need to do before my Plush will let me go to an actual practice. I haven't skated (in-line or quad) for years, and I've never been able to comfortably skate backwards on command. I've got so much to learn and am so out of shape.

But this is something I wanna try. both for the community, and the physical activity.

@kelseyhusky I realllly suggest getting some starter skates, especially if you did inline before, the quads feel weird as all fuck

@kelseyhusky and unsettle me to think about, two tracks with that little space between them how do they even pretend to be stable aaaaaaaaaaa

@IrisKalmia I've done quad skating before, but i've don't inline more recently. still been a while and definitly before I got tall and fat. So i'm basically going to have to learn how to move all over again. Had to do that with snowboarding earlier this year too.
