And will probably have the exact same rabidly defensive fanbase of RWBY.
I'd need to rewatch it (and dig into the veracity of the piles of weird drama around the creator) to get more concrete red flags but honestly. I don't want to spend the time.

Personally, I get way to absorbed in the action and narrative to really notice things like technical quality. For me, the animation has always been good enough for me to follow the story, which is what i'm interested in the first place. Its semi-generic, but IMO the action and twists are distinct enough to keep me engaged. YMMY, obviously.
also, watch gen:Lock. Same service, better everything.

@kelseyhusky Yeah see the thing is, RWBY fans were constantly trying to sell me on the technical prowess of it, so I was watching for technical prowess.
Maybe it improved in later seasons but eh. Overhyping kills things real hard for me.

@kelseyhusky my experience of it has been some honestly bad animation work. Like, the focal character gets good attention but everything else just kinda slides around. Fans vastly oversell the quality.
I recall the storyline being bland but I didn't watch enough to really get super sting feelings
