I'm so glad we have a calendar with month names that make sense [1/2]

January for Janus, the roman god obviously goes first smh

Then February, named avert Februa, a Roman festival of Purification

March is for Mars, Roman god of war

April comes from a latin word meaning "to open" which uh. Like spring flowers! Yeah.

May is after goddess Maia, who represents the month of May. :thonk:

June after Juno, god of making babies

July and August are for the roman emporers Julius Caesar and Agustus

I'm so glad we have a calendar with month names that make sense [2/2]

September, October, November and December are all roman numerals, which makes perfect sense!

September: Sep means 7, which is perfect for our 9th month!

October: Oct means 8, perfect for month 10

November: Nov means 9 which obviously means this is the 11th month

And finally, December: Dec means 10 and thus is ideal for month 12.

So glad we have such a logical calendar, or I might struggle to remember their order! :blobsob:
