@Doggo The Daily Express is just as bad as the Mail too. Worse in some situations, like its proclivity to publish straight up conspiracy theories.
@Doggo Although imperfect I'd say The Guardian is good enough.
Founded as the result of the Peterloo Massacre, only major paper to not be owned by a media oligarch, only one to have won the Pulitzer Prize, has been instrumental in lots of big stories (Trafigura scandal, Snowdon leaks), and runs a chariable foundation. It's bounds above any of the others we have, IMO.
@kimpegasus tbh it is the best one we have but...
It’s got a TERF infestation that makes me rather uneasy. It’s other articals prolly have merit, but I do side eye it due to that.
So I’d say it’s worthwhile but I do have to metaphorically peg my nose due to knowing there’s terfs on there.
@Doggo Yeah, I'm aware. I've kinda attributed to The Guardian tending to have a stance of "all opinions are valid," which is why their opinion pages have hosted prominent conservatives like David Cameron before.
@kimpegasus fair enough tbh. Not something I like but not my newspaper.
And that’s likely it yep, they’re more...center left I’d say?
Only very leftwing paper is the socialist worker that I know of.
I’ll admit, I’ve not read papers for a while due to anxiety issues. But I do keep up to date with critiques of em.
Not that it’s hard to look at the Daily Mails front page and know ‘yep that’s still shitty’
@Doggo The Guardian is definitely centre left, yeah. But it's the best of a not great bunch, unfortunately!
@kimpegasus I forgot about them tbh? But yep, just as bad honestly.
...does the U.K. even *have* any good newspapers? XP
