@Gargron In my job as a UI designer I’ve generally heard that messaging should avoid the passive voice, ‘take responsibility’ if it’s not an action the user desired to take, and provide instruction on how the user can proceed.
By those metrics “A moderator has locked your account for [x]. You can appeal this by [y].” would be the most ideal format.
