@blackle@dev.glitch.social i once wrote a thing where one of the space-faring races were entirely robotic because of a cataclysm that destroyed all organic life in their home system. Because of their tech level they all get to have slightly different anatomy (wildly different is too uncomfortable for most of them) and they all have different skin, because their material sciences more or less give them access to programmable shaders for real surfaces, that have a tactile channel on top of the optical ones
