@rey @icefox My mother raised me on the standard, "when my words don't work, what have I got left?" Words don't work with fascists, a point which has been demonstrated time and again. Even if they did, their views are so anathema that granting them the rigor of an intellectual equal cheapens the value of debate. It isn't as though I could be persuaded to consider their position, and any debate they might want is only to chill dissent. Punch Nazis.

@rey @icefox Also, I don't care if you study it, read about it, or write academically on it, but if you espouse it or advocate for it, you are inherently engaging in an act of bullying and emotional assault. There is no value-neutral promotion of fascism. The subject matter cannot -- should not -- be divorced from its consequences, and shutting that down isn't censorship; it's self-defense.

@icefox @rey This is also why I support limits on peaches. Defending the rights of Nazis to be Nazis in public has an immediate negative impact on the safety and freedom of everyone else. Tolerance of fascist speech tells those threatened by fascism their allies will be silent if shit goes down. And people who wield the false reversal of "they'll use your words to justify silencing you next" shield fascists by offering moral equivalence dir their acts.
