@fluffy@queer.party I want to say it's more than just education; I'm pretty sure it's a common usage in some dialects. That may be unconscious classism on my part. I genuinely don't know. I know I've _seen_ "hisself" in written prose, but only ever in reference to underprivileged people, and I can't say with any certainty whether that's reflexive of the speakers of the time or the writer of the prose itself. I haven't done any original research here.
