Toy dog = toast
Domestic dog = sandwich
Fox = burrito (red foxes = bean, arctic foxes = bean & cheese, etc)
Maned wolves, african wild dogs, etc. = bread bowl
Wolves = calzone
Everything falls into place. House cats are burritos. Snow leopards are bread bowls. Dragons are burritos, but kobolds are sandwiches. Ferrets are sandwiches, as are rats, while mice are toast and possums are bread bowls.
Badgers, naturally, are calzones.
