I would really like to have a bunch of money I could use to support friends.
@Felthry I put myself in considerable debt doing this and I don't really regret it
@mawr Don't know if I could do that. I have severe anxiety over being in debt. Never want to be in debt ever x.x
@Felthry Being in debt is awful, but unless you're super wealthy, all of us are ruled by it.
Even if you're renting, you're paying someone else's debts, and your rent is loosely tied to the value of the land you're renting.
I want to get into a mortgage as soon as possible to maintain some control over my cost of living. That's one example of taking on debt in a deeply beneficial way.
...the debt I took on helping others is among the worst kind of debt, though: credit cards. :x
@mawr I'm sooort of in a position where I might be able to not be in debt to anyone but my family? My dad is fairly well-off and it's possible I might be able to arrange things so that I'm only ever really owing anything to someone who actually cares about me as more than a source of money.
but really aaagh. Money is awful and I want things to work out in a non-awful manner and not have to be in debt
