@mawr SUCCESS!! This was a pain. The 3.5mm female audio jack is stereo, and the mic is mono, and the wires are super super thin and braided together. D:
I Converted the stereo 3.5mm jack to mono, then carefully got the thing soldered together.
Once together, a 4 post 3.5mm splitter to mic and headphones, manage the cables, then use a 4 post 3.5mm cable to plug into any compatible device. Voi la! Headset!
I wasn't as granular on this because this was a lot more frustrating. XD
@mawr After taking some time to practice with the female 3.5mm jacks, it's time for part 2.
I'm nervous about this one, wish me luck!
@mawr and then the headphone jack goes in! That was a pain to screw into place. I also drilled and cut into the retention bracket to make enough clearance to fold them up. ^^
Done with part one! On to part 2...
@mawr next is the wiring of the headphone jack! Wiring up for a test first, then solder, then heat shrink tubing to seal it up all nice. ^^
@mawr I don't have appropriately sized spare wire, so I'm using the wire from the cable. It's insulated with super thin epoxy or something, so I have to burn that off the tips, first.
So we were playing Mr. Card Game, the Kingdom of Loathing card game last night thanks to @Soreth bringing it over, and it made me want to try the original game again for the first time in like 15 years.
I just became a bugbear plush. I think I can consider that a win condition. :D
