Based on what is and isn't being filtered, it looks like they have a new algorithm that's trying to figure out the context in which "queer" is being used so they can auto-filter hate speech involving that word... and they're doing a really, really bad job of it.

Twitter's got a major problem, and this is the best solution to it they'll ever be able to afford. I figure slip-ups like this will eventually be the end of them.

@Siphonay@octodon.social I think that would depend on the context. Technically, any smaller part of a larger whole is a minority by definition -- but in the context of the current political discourse, absolutely not.
