hm, setting this CRT to 1600*1200 (its maximum) and Windows to 125% scaling might actually be the way to go
@noiob 1600x1200 on a /crt/? nice find!!!!
@er1n it's a cheapo generic one (my dad has literally the same one with different branding), but I guess it has decent resolution
@noiob yeah but like HOW DO YOU HAVE A CRT IN 2018
@er1n it's the one that came with my Windows ME computer, which is still sitting at my parents' (it's a wonderful little machine, I recently upgraded it from 128MB to 1GB of RAM, now it runs XP no problem)
@noiob i waaaaaaaaaaaaaant
i know they coil whine and i'm young enough to hear that, i know they run hot, i know they have problems but i'm SO NOSTALGIC for them atm
@noiob i remember doing shit on my first computers on CRTs!!! i want a bigass high-res CRT for my fancy new computer
@er1n this one's pretty silent, but it already had to be resoldered once
@er1n I'm using it with a frankensteined-together Dell Optiplex that I brought here so I'll be able to play some Overwatch over the holidays
@noiob overwatch!! on!! electron!! tube!!
@er1n but yeah it sure is an aesthetic
@noiob yes and I hate it so much
@SwooshyCueb I mean screens got bigger to match
@noiob they certainly got wider
It's interesting how this screen is fine to run ME or even XP but put Windows 10 on it and it starts feeling cramped. I guess UI got bigger over time, huh
