downgrading my Xserver to pre 1.2 so I can run the proprietary nvidia legacy driver on this ancient HP Compaq challenge

if this graphics card didn't have bugs or if the free drivers worked around them I wouldn't have to figure out how to do weird stuff in apt

okay in the end it's my fault for running debian 10 on this horrible old laptop

when it breaks again I'm putting XP on it

I actually managed to get the laptop to run with the nvidia legacy driver, though I had to use the 4.9 kernel so technically it's debian 9.9

@Thurguston no idea what exactly but on the free driver the screen glitches out and at some point it overheats and locks up

@Thurguston it's a hp Compaq nw9440 with a Quadro FX 1500M for the record
