@noiob Ar Tonelico :D
@pettancow I think you're gonna have to elaborate, the Wikipedia article contains multiple tables
@noiob Of course <3 The Ar Tonelico series is set in a world where, its its wave-based physics model, words and feelings have power, and that civilization has harnessed this by creating systems to harness feelings and project them as magic as controlled by the power of song, using a special constructed language called Hymmnos.
The series has a variety of pieces composed with this in mind, whether being sung by the characters themselves in key points of the game or reciting the world's lore!
@pettancow That sounds cool!
does that mean the characters can hear the game music too though?
@pettancow neat
@pettancow yeah, I'm sadly not a big RPG person because ADHD
@noiob That's fair. I do recommend listening to the Hymmnos Concert tracks if nothing else though c: My favourites are EXEC_HARMONIOUS and EXEC_over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION ~ Omness Chs Ciel Sos Infel, the final boss themes of the first two games
@pettancow thanks, I'll check those out!
@noiob (Also my favourites because they're sung by Akiko Shikata whom I adore as a composer, singer, and all around amazing person <3)
@noiob The downside is Ar Tonelico is a rather niche JRPG series, one that kind of marketed to more base audiences later on, so it has a shady reputation that's not strictly undeserved...
But it does have a lot of fascinating lore and the music is amazing, both the Hymmnos pieces and even just the regular background music, so it's worth trying out the first two games if you have a PS2 or emulator <3 There's even a retranslation patch called Project Metafalica out for the second game
